The Making of Tank, Part 1 of 2

Being too much silent in the past few days, what had I done?

If you were at this blog during the past 2 months, you might be probably read the post about DSA 2008, which was on 21-24 April 2008.

My client - FNSS, is simply too kind to pass me one of his gift, which is a very super-complicated tank model which is totally 0% not done! (There are some perfectly done + framed + labelled + painted but he didn’t give that to me.)

I start from this chassis

And these plastics! Note the small detailed pieces of wheels, tank accessories, protection armors?

Haha, I’m joking!

Making a model from pieces of small pieces of ’super-mini-accessories’ is not that easy as I thought. During my process of making the model, it seems that they’ve made the pieces of plastics to represents the actual tank during assembling.

The instruction of assembling a tank model, do you see that B17, C24, B7? Those are the detailed parts I am talking about. It’s very very small and you will need to have extra care for them.

The parts where I will need to have those covered on top.

You will know why, when you see how complicated and how detailed it is. It is seriously fucking detailed.

During the process of assembling, I use the super-glue which will dry in 10 seconds. It means, I will need to make my decision very quickly if that is the correct part that I should let it dry, or should I switch position before its too late?

See the lid? Accordingly to the instruction, I have to make sure fit this thing nicely or it will not work as in plan.

There you go, it works properly!

Another point of consideration, I will need to consider if this part will affect another? Or, is there any possibility that after I get the top part covered, and in the end noticed that something is not done inside the vehicle?

All to be taken into point of consideration.

With these decals, it makes your tank looks even more beautiful!

I made these 2 containers and get ready for battlefield!

It’s so tiring after playing with the thing for half day, its too detailed and its too unbelievable time consuming and require a lot of attention and care, otherwise, some parts might gone missing, or some parts might be broken into 2 or 3 pieces which will cause the reason to fail your real purpose.

In the end, it looks similiar like what is being shown as below.

Soon to be updated with finished tank model with proper acrylic frame.

Not for sale!

So Now You Know … !
