Two weeks ago, I have this client who is from Japan, appointed us to be the contractor for this show - Magic The Gathering at KLCC. It’s all about cards game, where all the participants come from all over the world to join this contest.
The statue - angel is the huge part, where it takes few hours to assemble it all together. A truck delivers every single part of the angel and you can imagine how big the angel is.
At Pro Tour - Magic The Gathering, you can even learn how to play the cards.
The unique part of the angel is, it can be supported with just a single supporting pole underneath it, without having any rigging cables from the top of the trusses. It was so perfectly made.
A very outdated post! Back to Chinese New Year in early of February!
A “Yee Sang” represents or symbolizes prosperity, health, wealth, longevity and many more. Chinese believes in eating “Yee Sang” during Chinese New Year enhance their luck in such romance, luck, career, wealth and health.
Grandma recommended this restaurant and brought us there a year back - The Restaurant Lanta!
The “Yee Sang”
The Shark Fin’s Soup
The Oyster Omelette
The Frog (It’s very fresh and strongly recommended where the wine was added into the soup)
At Sungai Klah, they name it as “Taman Rekreasi Air Panas”. In short, TRAP. In English, it means Hot Spring Theme Park.
It happens that we manage to drop by TRAP before we continue our journey to Teluk Intan. For your information, this place is located in Sungkai and it is about 2 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur.
Entrance costs you about RM10.00 for adult, and RM8.00 for children.
At TRAP, a goggles or floating tubes is not needed. The guards will not allow you to use them in the hot spring anyway.
At TRAP, you will find this place for people to boil the eggs. The temperature is good enough to boil an egg and you can instantly have your eggs eaten on the spot. Of course, it is not allowed to bring eggs from your house buy you can purchase eggs at an affordable price.
It’s freaking hot inside the hot spring pool!
There is a hot spring pool allowing people to have a short bath + swimming. It is about 40-60 degree celcius and floating tubes are not allowed.
That’s the trip to TRAP, moving on to Fishing Village next 2 days!
After a working Saturday, 2 colleagues from marketing department went to this Restaurant Or-Ju Korean Food, which is located at Kepong (Nearby to Carrefour).
I didn’t expect the food is so spicy! The Kimchi and the other appetizers, main course are all spicy and I had a serious stomach upset right after the meal.
However, the food tastes good.
We ordered so many food and there are only 3 of us!
An almost abandoned and polluted fishing village, a place where all there young man away from the home and went looking for the challenges in the city - Bagan Lipas Fishing Village.
A place where I went to visit the aunty since I was young, the place is even worse than before, it has so many broken trunks and the seabed is terribly polluted.
However, it is still a very good spot for photography lovers.
This is the place where Bagan Lipas villages leave to the sea for fresh catches, and my uncle is one of the fisherman on the boat.
At this place, there are so many abandoned houses, abandoned halls, everyone in the village has a very low maintainence on their daily life. I bet they don’t even know what is a blog. They have not much knowledge on I.T.
At the same old, smelly, and ugly place, you will find this Asam Laksa, which is just right opposite stall from the Chee Cheong Fun’s. You must really recognize this stall as below and give it a try if you happen to drop by at Teluk Intan.
They are so famous from the older days and they are still in business after 40-50 years.
Their soup is truly awesome!
I don’t like having onions and cucumbers in Asam Laksa, I had a plain Asam Laksa without any ingredients. That is why, this photo has no ingredients except the mee.
Did you know that Chee Cheong Fun in Teluk Intan are all stuffed with minced pork and minced vegetables? The Chee Cheong Fun was to be eaten without any sauce but to eat with green chilly.
There are some stalls in Kuala Lumpur selling the same Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun, but they are just simply too oily and yet not as delicious as Teluk Intan’s.
Since I was young, mom & dad brought me to this old, smelly, ugly stall for these food, very special and tasty food - Chee Cheong Fun. We had our dinner here when we arrive in Teluk Intan to visit the aunty.
Believe me, the place is still so smelly, old, ugly even after 12 years when I’m now grown up to be able to drive my mom to this place for supper. Well, normally, you will only find good food in such places.
If you happen to visit Teluk Intan, you must go to this Rojak Stall, just located at the same street of the Pasar Pagi. If you are still unsure, give me a call at my mobile and I will lead the way.
My mom grows in Teluk Intan and since she is in primary school, Rojak Ah Chai is just a small stall on bicycle. The aunty has made it as a well-known Rojak Ah Chai and it is still famous even after 40 years.
The stall is now running by her son and herself is still helping in processing the Rojak.
The sauce is simply delicious and the biscuits is so crispy! It’s my first time eating this Rojak Ah Chai and whenever if I happen to pay a visit to Teluk Intan, I will surely return for more!
For your understanding, “Menara Condong” is a malay word and it means “Slanted Tower”, just like the PISA at Italy.
In Teluk Intan, this is the only landmark that they own, and it has been already about a decade of history since my grandmother is in the Primary School.
While the engineers and contractors were building this in the year of 1885, it was meant to be used as a Clock Tower with a water tank on top of it. Due to the weight of the water tank and also the softness of the base, the tower has begun to slant at one side and that is why it was well-known as the 2nd PISA after Italy’s.
The contractor who was in-charge of building this, has a name called Choong Cheong / Ah Cheong and he got his inspiration because of the pagoda’s in China. His original plan was to build a water tank as a solution to emergency fire cases, also to provide water when there is no water supply. In between the year of 1889 and 1895, the entire building was being sunk into a flood and that is why it has become even more famous with the name of “Menara Condong Teluk Intan”
During the world war 2, the Japanese use this tower as the Headquarters to watch the enemies from far, and they’ve broken some small part of the building especially the 3rd floor.
From the outside, you see that it looks like having 7 storeys but inside of the building has only 3 storeys. It takes about 110 steps to go up the 3rd floor.
In the year of 1997, the Perak Authorities took the initiative to build a plaza surrounding the building, to allow it to become a tourists spot.
