Snorkeling at Krabi, once of a must-do thing.
The water isn’t that expected clear, it isn’t like “Diamond Water Filtered - Like” and you can’t really see any sea creatures with your bare eyes.
The most stupid thing is, there is only 1 specie of fish that we can see, how pathetic!

By using my DicaPac Underwater Kit, I can’t see anything from the snorkeling mask. I can’t see any display on my digital camera screen and I can just simply snap whenever possible and hoping that I will be able to snap some great shots.
Here it is, the best of whatever I can see.
Most of the corals are dead, perhaps due to Tsunami happens back in few years ago?

You are seeing the above underwater pictures are clear, because I’ve edited it using Picasa Google.

Accordingly to the tour guide, if it happens that your mask dropped into the sea, you must inform him or else you will be fined with 1,000.00 Baht each.

Next 2 Days ! See some nude girls having sunbath. Drooool !

Just be prepared for some breath-taking photos of Ao Nang Beach!
The beach is not “Port Dickson - like” or “Bagan Lalang - like”. It’s purely clean and soft sand laid all along the Ao Nang Beach.
It is definitely a very good photo taking spot for photography lovers!

We had a group photo taken here.
Tips to take group photo at beach :
Never take group photo by having the sun at your back, you will have these dark faces where you can’t see the features of it. Always take photos by having the sun shining on your face and you will be guaranteed to have some nice photos with proper lighting like the below : -

At Ao Nang Beach, this is where we boarded onto our long tail boat which it takes us to the Island Island mentioned earlier. There are so many boats parked alongside at Ao Nang Beach to sail to the Island Island.

When we are almost arriving to the 1st Island, we are like : “What?! Standing in the sea?”
Yes, the sea combining 2 Island together (Hong Island & Tub Island) is simply shallow and allow us to just walk from an Island to and Island.
Now I’m like David Blaine!

Check out the project personnels & the secretaries!

By having a DicaPac Underwater Kit, I had this opportunity to take the underwater photos without having my camera dipped into the sea water.

Due to the water spot in front of the Dicapac Underwater Kit, it spoils this image. Remember to check if there is any water spot in front of your lens before you take any photos.

Hey fish, I see you now!

More underwater post tomorrow!

At night, this is the only place where you can loiter around. There is nothing much at night in Krabi except night market.
Be prepared with at least 2,000.00 Baht and you are ready to go! (I spent about 1,000.00 Baht at this market)

You will see all these nicely decorated restaurant with nice ambiance, guaranteed with nice food! At Krabi, eat the most that you can!

The nighttime at Krabi is seriously very happening, all the Ang Mohs came out and you can see so many handsome guys & pretty lass walking around town.

There are so many activities can be done in Ao Nang town and you can see this everywhere!

And I personally think that this girl is so cute with all the sharp features, she looks like a doll. What do you think?
The Thai is just so skillful in carvings, imagine how they carve the soap like what is being shown as below?

She is worth is a few million, I guess.

And we had our massage after a round of shopping, it costs us about 200.00 Baht per hour. (About RM20.00)
I had my foot massaged and damn itchy I’d say ! Haha !
Tomorrow’s post? The Beach & Underwater Photos!

Afterall, we were brought to this place called - Tipa Resort.

A very awesome resort !

Krabi has so many Bed & Breakfast Hotels for tourists and we got ourselves this Tipa Resort, cost about RM300.00 per night stay. It’s located all along the street of Ao Nang night market and all the food, groceries, beach accessories, massage centers, night pubs, are all easily accessible with just some steps away from the resort room.

We had our breakfast here every morning.
This hotel is just simply amazing! This is truly a very nice romantic place for couples I’d say.

A poolside bar at night!

This is the entrance to our rooms.

The bridge leads to the Bungalow Resorts.

This is the resort room with all the basic facilities.

The Swimming Pool at Tipa Resort
Services Rating: 9/10
Resort Maintainence Rating: 9/10
Facilities Rating: 8/10
Food Rating: 7/10
Overall Rating: 8/10

We we brought to this fish farm of Krabi.
Thanks to the really cool lighting of fish farm, allowing me to take shots like these!

I was told by the tour guide that this place owned by the government as a fish farm. Please bear in mind that these fish are the deep water fish! You will even see turtles here!

In the tank, all the species of fish are so rarely can be seen in town.

Meet Mr Turtle! I told you I see turtle here! It’s not those old stupid tortoise but this is healthy turtle which swim really fast.

By shooting into a fish tank, this is where you will meet the nemos.

I didn’t know, shooting this photo without a proper shutter speed & aperture, the effect is not that what I expected.

You will even see a seahorse here! It is moving really, really slow …

This is one of the ugly stone fish.

Not forgetting, a photo of me, at fish farm.

Catch Jay Chou live at 1 Utama on 2 February 2008 from 10.00am onwards! For more information, click www.uth.com.my! If you happen to be there as well, ring me at my mobile to meet up!
After having our lunch at Famous Duck Noodle, we headed to the Krabi town for a short shopping visit. The girls went to look for some accessories and attires while the guys go and look for some massage centers.

Surprisingly, most of the massage centers at Krabi is just some plain ‘fish tank’ whereby all the massage ladies sitting inside a room with a huge glass and you are allowed to choose from their numbering.

We finally decided to take a short walk at the shopping center instead of going for massage, the massage ladies are just simply too discouraging.
At Krabi Town, you will even see a shop like this,

“Porn de Beaute”
What a name!
It’s a Saloon by the way. Hahaha !

The moment you step down the bus, you smell the aroma of the famous duck noodle at Krabi. This is another spot where all the tourists will be brought to this rural place where you won’t really able to find it by yourself without anyone to guide you there.
It’s just some very simple, normal hut to cater about 50-80 pax? I don’t know. It fits in our whole bus of people and there are still some empty tables left.
All the duck noodle was being prepared earlier and they will just need to pour the soup into the bowl and that is it! You are just about to be presented with a bowl of Krabi Famous Duck Noodle. (They claimed it)

Eating a bowl of duck noodle at such rural area in a smelly hut is just another kind of experience. (It’s not about eating duck noodle at Bidor, in a nice air-conditioned environment.)

Oh, not forgetting, they rear ducks behind and you will hear quack, quack, quack ………………… quack.
And the live of a duck just simply because of this …… famous duck noodle in Krabi!
Voila !

It costs about RM4.50 per bowl.

There is no Tiger at this temple! It’s just the name of the temple anyway.
Let’s see what the website is saying about Tiger Caves Temple : -
The tiger cave temple is aptly named because of the rock outgrowth nearby resembling a tiger’s claw. The temple is located about 3km from the town towards North East.

Wat Tahm Seua is known as a center for meditation. It’s spectacular setting in the Ao Luk Thanu mountain ranges provides the necessary quiet atmosphere for meditation. The main vihara or the sanctum sanctorum is inside a small shallow limestone cave. Both sides are lined by cells like caves which are called monastic cells or kutis. The area is well lit and very well maintained preserving the serenity of the environment. Some 250 Monks and Nuns live in the temple compound at the moment.

You can venture up the hills. There are two passages, one taking you up by 1200 steps to the hill top. The commanding view all around shall be worthy of taking the strain to climb the hill. The second passage is only 130 steps up and you reach the place where monks live in their small cottages.

The whole area is full of caves and limestone rock formations. Archaeologists have found remnants of ancient habitations as old as from stone age. Stone tools, shards of pottery and beads, idols of clay have all been unearthed which bear testimony to the cultural heritage of the area.
Adopted from website

Meet my colleagues, all of them are exhibition 3D designers! Superb!

All of us in a group photo at Tiger Caves Temple.

Krabi, a place where you can experience what is a real tourism place that it should be.A memorable place where I will never forget, a wonderful vacation and a wonderful relaxation made possible. Thanks to the company who subsidized this trip valued at about RM1,000.00 per person.
The moment you step down the plane, it’s all about rural homes of Krabi citizens. Everything is so urban and not really being developed by the government. There is only 1 town in Krabi and it has just about 10-20 rows of shops for all the daily needs.

Krabi Airport
Krabi is a name where you remember where the place should be. The actual tourism spot is actually named as “Ao Nang” where you will see all the pretty hot ‘ang mohs’ during night time. Ao Nang is a place where you can buy your souvenirs for your loved ones, and not forgetting, bargain for a price of at least 40-50% discount. At Ao Nang Street, it is seriously very happening where you can see a lot of nice food with nice ambiance, which most of it caters for the Ang Mohs. It wasn’t too expensive tho, it costs you about RM45.00 for a Grilled Steak.
For my experience in Krabi, it’s a tourism spot where you won’t really see the hike of price targeting tourists. It’s just some very affordable price but just to make sure that you really, really bargain!!

Krabi Airport
For snorkeling & diving lovers, Krabi is your ideal choice whereby you will see nice corals and nice fish swimming in the sea. The water isn’t that crystal clear and don’t expect as what I previously expected. You can see the fish, but hardly. Look through my upcoming post and you will understand why I’m saying so.
To cut the story short, please check back in 1-2 weeks time for all the coming Krabi shots and my experience in Krabi, Thailand.
1. Tiger Caves Temple
2. Famous Duck Noodle
3. Krabi Town
4. Fish Farm, Krabi
5. Tipa Resort, Krabi
6. Night Market, Krabi
7. Snorkeling, Krabi
8. Last Day, Krabi
All the above posts will be on 2-days basis.
