Why do you need to spend time with your family.
Reading Sam’s blog, this is worth to share. No matter how busy we are, we must spend time with our loved ones.
It has been 2 months I’m working with new employment. It is so different comparing my previous employment and seriously I think that I have wasted too much time doing nothing in the office last time. Currently, every minute counts. You don’t have the time to go for toilet or you won’t have the time to talk on phone with your friends. You can only call the suppliers or to receive calls from clients.

There are so many quotations and so many projects ongoing at the same time, and every projects need to be very detailed in order to ensure nothing goes wrong. It is hilarious of what I did in my past employment but then, I’m glad that it’s a stepping stone for me.
It is just a 2nd month working at the new office, I’m getting used to it, and beginning to have some sales. Recently, manage to close 1 sale from Australia and 1 sale from United States. It’s just about the job satisfaction having the clients to sign on the dotted lines.

There are more to go, many clients to meet, many quotations to type, many negotiations to make. The more exhibition it is, the more chances I get to see more things on different industries.
Of course, the more people I will be meeting with, the better charisma that I will gain.
Even how busy I am, I will still spend time for my friends and my family. This is because, I realize that importance of love and friendship.
For the readers whom don’t know what I am doing: -
- I meet clients
- I propose exhibition booth designs
- I confirm designs with clients
- I get quotations from suppliers
- I close sales
If you are a supplier of any props manufacturer, office furnitures, video productions, inkjet images, etc. You can contact me so that we can work out something in near future.
Now, let me share a story where I read it at Sam’s blog.
A small touching story mainly for professionals…
A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.
SoN: “Daddy, may I ask you a question?”
DAD: “Yeah sure, what is it?” replied the man.
SON: “Daddy, how much do you make an hour?”
DAD: “That’s none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?” the man said angrily.
SON: “I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?”
DAD: “If you must know, I make Rs.100 an hour.”
SON: “Oh,” the little boy replied, with his head down.
SON: “Daddy, may I please borrow Rs.50?”
The father was furious, “If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I work hard everyday for such this childish behavior.”
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.
The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy’s questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?
After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that Rs.50 and he really didn’t ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy’s room and opened the door.
“Are you asleep, son?” He asked.
“No daddy, I’m awake,” replied the boy.
“I’ve been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier” said the man.
“It’s been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here’s the Rs.50 you asked for.”
The little boy sat straight up, smiling. “Oh, thank you daddy!” He yelled.
Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.
The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.
The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.
“Why do you want more money if you already have some?” the father grumbled.
“Because I didn’t have enough, but now I do,” the little boy replied.
“Daddy, I have Rs.100 now. Can I buy an hour of your time?
Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.”
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.
It’s just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent sometime with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts.
Do remember to share that Rs.100 worth of your time with someone you love.
If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days.
But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than to our family.

By the way, I will be back on 19 October 2007.

Hmmm… Interesting entry. Mind me for not commenting as frequently as the others! Anyway, you’re right. It’s cool you have a new job and you’re getting adjusted to this hectic lifestyle, it’s important for you to spend time with your family too.
“Even how busy I am, I will still spend time for my friends and my family. This is because, I realize that importance of love and friendship.”
Psst, if only my dad thinks the SAME way as you do. =.= Nobody in the family likes the feeling of being neglected. It’s good that you’re having a balanced lifestyle. Excelling in your job, having close friends, keeping a good relationship with your family and even make time for your hobby i.e. to blog. You should be awarded as the best friend/ brother/ son or something. Do keep it that way and DON’T EVER CHANGE.
Trust me, nobody likes to hang out with Mr Bumble bee who doesn’t give nuts on other stuff other than his work.
On another issue, you mentioned:
“If you are a supplier of any props manufacturer, office furnitures, video productions, ink jet images, etc. You can contact me so that we can work out something in near future.”
Hmm… Maybe I should ask my dad to look for you? lol. He’s a businessman in that type of things.
Ok, mind this LONG comment. A habit of mine when I stumble upon great entries in case you haven’t realised. lol.
Live life to the fullest mate. You rock.

This is real cool and I hv to agree with you with my two legs UP! Hahahaha! Well, I always say this to myself and ppl around me nowadays.. Work hard and enjoy hard too~ As a human being, sometimes, we are just too tiny and useless.. We definitely cannot predict what will be happening for the next second.. And of course, we are always being advised not to stay too long considering our pasts as it is history.. So, what else? Grab the time that you are having now! Enjoy it and live it!.. It is so important to spend time with our beloved ones~ Family and friends.. They are the most important ppl in our life.. We work so hard.. WHY? To earn money.. WHY? To have a better life.. BUT.. If we earn that much of money yet nobody is around you to share that with you.. It’s pointless.. Do you agree with me? =D
So, don’t forget.. 27th.. We are seeing each other k? =D

Benghan, Thanks for sharing this small touching story at your site.
I used to work long hours and spend little time with family. But I have realized that it is so important to spend time with family. We must learn to manage our time. When we are young and climbing the ladder of success in our career, we tend to neglect our family.
Remember to spend time with your family and keep close contact when you travel alot.
